Casa de Griffon Creating awareness of the plight of the beautiful Spanish dog known as Griffons Hi, I have run Casa de Griffon for 5 years, heres a bit about my background in animal rescue. After fostering several griffons in England and hearing about the terrible abuse that Spanish Griffon Dogs go through, I decided to make the move to Galicia, northern Spain. Casa de griffon was set up 5 years ago to save as many dogs as possible from the horrendous abuse that they suffer here. Since arriving Casa de Griffon has taken care of over 500 dogs in all shapes and sizes About Casa de Griffon The Galicians are a large hunting province and their dogs of choice tend to be Griffons, Beagles and Podencos. The pounds are overflowing with several hundred dogs who are locked in concrete cages 24/7 unless they are released to adopters and rescuers. From pregnant old girls to ex hunting dogs who have been beaten and tied to short chains, this is the continual abuse these beautiful dogs have to endure. Just over two years ago, a property was found in northern Galicia and we have been busy building indoor enclosures and secure outdoor exercise areas where the dogs are assessed and rehabilitated so they can be adopted to the forever homes. Similarly to many of you, our basic running costs have increased sharply recently (for example our vets bills, which despite the kindness of our amazing vets, now run into the thousands of Euros every month. OUR MONTHLY VETS BILLS HAVE ALMOST DOUBLED BUT OUR INCOME HAS NOT We dont need to tell you that the economic outlook is bleak and shows no signs of slowing up. But giving in or stopping what we do is not an option for Barkinside. We cannot turn our back on the never ending flow of new cases who are desperate for our help, we also cannot suddenly withdraw the help and support for those who are permanent residents at the Sanctuary. Its not something we can consider. Our residents have experienced nothing except hellish conditions and abuse their entire lives. Their naturally trusting and loving natures have made them vulnerable to all kinds physical and mental violation. It is imperative that they have no doubt that never again will the trust they put in us be broken. Our commitment to them is for the whole of their lifetime, unfortunately maintaining this costs a lot of money. Paraíso del Perro PELUQUERIA CANINA Where dogs are pampered like true VIPs Au cours de mes 34 années (Jacqueline Roberts) à ce poste, dont 9 passées en Espagne, je suis fière de dire que j'ai eu le privilège et l'honneur de participer au sauvetage et à sauver la vie de plus de 600 chiens ! Je n'aurais pas pu faire ça sans aide ! All animals in our care will have a number, so: this can be included in the reference of the chosen donation method, so specific donations can, wherever possible go towards spending on items, food, toys, gifts or care for a specific animal of your choice, sponsorship packages can be given as gifts for birthdays and Christmas / Holidays to friends, family and loved ones (please read more about this here), each animals number will relate to a special section on their personal profiles (these can be found on our Our Dogs page which will have a list of suggested gifts, items the dog needs and things that maybe arent so urgent but would increase their quality of life - or maybe their favourite treats they will be given a birthday even if we dont have an official one (maybe the date they were rescued), so their sponsors can send a birthday card or gift (the same for other notable dates in each dogs calendar)etc) when the times comes for a sponsored dog to make its journey across the Rainbow Bridge (please see our new Rainbow Bridge collection here , currently under construction), small memorial gifts can be purchased for the gardens or special arrangements can be made for the current sponsorship to be transferred with ease and no extra fees or chatges, like the way their sponsorship system works not just from the financial Point of view of Barkinside but also to increase the connexion between our supporters and the dogs luxury treat bag special bed gift new jacket new collar favourite treats (offer basic choices) SPONSOR A DOG SPONSOR A DOG SPONSOR A DOG SPONSOR A DOG

ROSIE & REGGIE, LENA & FOXY Recovering from a life of horror by Barkinside "Now their journey to a new life begins" Towards the end of November we were told about several dogs who were in a desperate situation and needed our help urgently. Barkinside responded immediately. After a long and difficult struggle we had four new babies taking sanctuary with us. This is their story, and a gentle appeal for help with our escalating costs. The 12th of December 2024 marks a milestone in the amazing story of the recovery of the four new dogs that came to join Barkinside two weeks ago. It was an especially big day for the amazing Little Foxy and our beautiful old girl Lena who were both rescued together. Today they they were treated to a professional grooming session courtesy of our very kind friends at Parìso del Perro .
